Is there any decent animation software for creating anime?
A lot of anime studios us Retas! Pro. Over here, some of the better commercial 2D animation programs are Digicel Flipbook, Toon Boom, TVPaint, TAB, and PAP. Keep in mind that the majority of anime is still hand drawn. They’re only cleaned, inked and composited digitally. It doesn’t matter how good your software is if the person doing the animation doesn’t know how to animate or won’t put in the hard work to make something look good, then you’ll never achieve that kind of quality. Plus, they have teams of many animators and cleanup artists to produce the work. Animation is a lengthy process and requires a lot of man-hours. Only by having more hands to help can you quicken the process. If you’re just one person and you want highly detailed, fluid animation, it’s going to take you a loooong time to finish anything.
