Is there any danger in using Peroxide to treat a suspected ear infection?

A very low percentage of Peroxide is in those ear cleaning kits. If the pain is from impacted ear wax, this would help! Do not use straight out of the bottle unless it if from one of those ear cleaning kits! Peroxide will eat thru the skin, including the ear drum, and you can do some damage to yourself using it right out of the bottle without duliting it. I would suggest a product called Tea Tree Oil, available at any health food store. Put some on a Q-tip and swap out the ear cannal. Do it several times a day. Tea Tree Oil was at one time called “First Aid Kit in a Bottle” and at one time, (Before common antibiotics were developed,) was included in every member of the British Army’s kit! It treats many infections, bacteria, and fungus. DO NOT allow your cat to get into it as one drop will kill your cat! It can be used successfully on dogs however. You might also try “Ear Coning” or “Ear Candling”. I’ve used that method to take care of an ear infection many times.
