Is there any danger in using a USB hub with AC power?

You should find it to be fine with using an AC Powered USB Hub. A USB Non-Powered Hub would be a problem but the only problem you should really have is that the devices that are dependant on USB Power will not work. Devices such as printers or anything that has its own power source will be fine. A Powered Hub will just power the Hub in order for it to power devices that require power from USB such as USB Sticks or External HDD (2.5″). If there is any damaged caused to a USB Devices from the Hub then it might be down to it being faulty or might having a fault with the device itself. Try not to go over the top with devices into hubs though as its not always a good thing to do from what I have seen in my years of dealing with computers. Hope this helps..
