Generally the youngest/ only child is the self -centred/ self indulgent one, the eldest child is usually a carer and they frequently go into jobs such as nursing/ teaching etc.

yes , only children usually tend me more selfish and self centered, because for atleast 15-20 years of their lives, beith the onlykid , they get special treatment from their parents, and they do not have this “caring and sharing” attitude, since they never had any sisters or brothers to share and care about, when they grwo up and go out in the world, they do not seem to care about anyone, and are close to the thought of sharing anything with other be it their privacy or girl/boy friend.hence they become possessive! as far as being the oldest child is concerned, i m the eldest in my family and i dont think any eldest child can be self centered, coz they have to take care of their younger ones and have to responsible of their deeds when the mums and dads are not around! although they become indulgent in their own way, they do not treat the younger kids as their equals, they always treat them as younger ones; so they do not tend to share their own problems with them, because they do not f
