Is there any collector out there that would know roughly How much a Wilt Chamberlain oil painting.?
Because there are a thousand variables involved, there is no way for anyone to know unless they take a look at the painting and know the artist. A good oil painting by a noted artist could be worth $20,000, while a bad painting by a random hack could run you $50. You need to do some easy internet research on the artist (if you don’t know the chap) and find out what people are paying for other works by that artist. If you cannot come upon the artist’s name, you might run the painting down to a local gallery and have them evaluate it for quality. They would have useful tips for getting it on the market, too, assuming you would like to sell. Ebay is always good, but is not a good use of time if you don’t know how much it is or could be worth.
