Is there any Chinese-made infant formula offered for sale in the United States?
No Chinese manufacturers of infant formula have fulfilled the requirements to sell infant formula in the United States. To help verify that no Chinese-made infant formula is for sale in the U.S., FDA – in conjunction with state and local officials – began a nation-wide effort to check Asian markets for Chinese manufactured infant formula. In particular, this effort has focused on areas of the country with large Chinese communities, such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, and New York. To date, federal, state, and local investigators have visited more than 1,800 retail markets and have not found Chinese manufactured infant formula present on shelves in these markets.
