Is there any chance of life on triton neptunes moon?
Life as traditional Earth biochemistry knows it? No. Life based on alternative theories of biochemistry, yes. Beneath its icy surface Triton is teeming with volcanic and tectonic activity. There are ample amounts of ammonia, water, and nitrogen flowing below the surface, in much the same way lava flows below the surface of the earth. Triton also possesses a thin nitrogen atmosphere. Alternative theories of biochemistry suggest that it is possible that life could form on Triton using ammonia (which has a low freezing point), in much the same way early life forms on earth used water. Yes, it is possible. However given the harsh, gelid conditions, and our current understanding of life in general and its rarity, it is still unlikely.
