Is there any chance of an Allerseelen DVD, or some sort of visual document?
Do you make videos? I’ve talked to some people who said they’d like to make videos for Allerseelen, but I’m not concentrating on it, really. It’s like, if I read a good book, and then I see a film of it, then the impressions of the book are overwhelmed by the images of the film. Maybe the same would happen – say I have a song about fire, and then the video shows a lot of flames… I think the international language is the music itself. I just think the albums are so beautiful, and it’d be interesting to see that aesthetic brought to film. You’re right – it’s a good challenge, and I’ll think about it. Actually, when I was 18, I spent a lot of time in Italy, visiting the volcanoes around Naples. For me, Etna is very northern – it’s fire and ice. I shot a lot of Super-8 film of Etna, with the flames and smoke coming out of the craters, and recently I gave it to a friend of mine in Stockholm who makes DVDs for Cold Meat Industry, and he said he’d like to make something with this film.
