Is there any cambial burn with the Arborjet microinjection system?

0

A. The Arborjet VIPER method is not a cambial injector. Arborjet is designed to deliver product directly into the sapwood, or xylem. The cambial layer is protected by a sealing mechanism of the Arborplug, which was designed specifically to address the problem of cambial burning. If the Arborplug is set incorrectly, the injected solution could be improperly placed in the cambial layer, where separation and/or burning could result. For this reason, we emphasize the importance of using care when preparing injection sites. (see the Arborjet video which can be downloaded from the website, or ask for one to be mailed to you.) It is true that cambial injectors cause cambial burn. Cambial injectors rely on bark separation, which in itself kills cambium. It is also true that common passive injection systems leave open wound sites allowing for chemical exposure to the cambium area, but this is not true of the Arborjet VIPER method. Do not confuse Arborjet with the Arbor Systems’ Wedgle, a system
