Is there any alternative for aspirin for preventing heart problems?
Aspirin is an antiplatelet. It causes platelets not to work as well, so when you have a heart attack, platelets will not stick together as well, thereby minimizing the damage of the heart attack. That is also the reason why people who take aspirin will bruise much easier. However, aspirin does not completely block platelet, so you will still able to clot when your hurt yourself. As for alternative, the only one available is Plavix, which is a prescription medication. There are plenty of patients who take Aspirin and Plavix together to get even more blood thinning effects, to prevent heart attack or stroke.
