Answer 23: No. There are no charges for using the eDecs system. • Question 24: What documents do I need to present to U.S. Customs for import clearance? Answer 24: You will need to print out a copy of your electronic declaration which shows either a “CLEARED” status or a “REFUSED CLEARANCE” status and provide this document to U.S. Customs with your entry. • Question 25: Is the FWS clearance process any different if I file using eDecs? Answer 25: No. You still need to obtain clearance from us before U.S. Customs releases your shipment or you consign it for export. You must still submit a hard copy of the processed declaration to U.S. Customs for imports. When your electronic declaration has been reviewed by the wildlife inspector, an e-mail notification will be sent to you. The e-mail notification will be addressed to the e-mail address you provide with your eDecs account.
