Yes. Firefighters can attend the Georgia Fire Academy’s “Basic Firefighter NPQ 1” program of instruction. This course includes all course work found in Modules one, two, and three. However, this course is presented in a 187 hour delivery. Another option is to complete the course as an “in-house” program instructed at the local fire department. In this model, instructors from the local fire department teach the “Basic Firefighter NPQ 1” and then schedule testing through Georgia Firefighter Standards and Training.
