Is there an onsen (hot spring) near Yougendo?
Yes there is. Mt. Shigi offers hot spring facilities with an outdoor bath and a natural water source said to be beneficial for a wide range of ailments. If you want to experience a hot spring and want to avoid the crowds or are a bit shy then we thoroughly recommend this hot spring. It is usually quite quiet and offers a serence bathing experience. Access is by 1-stop ride of train and bus or more conveniently taxi from Yougendo.
