Is there an easy way to remove baseboards without damaging the gyp-rock wall?
Baseboards are tough because the installation may have called for not only nails, but glue as well. After the install, a bead of caulk is run along the top to hide imperfections and give it a clean, finished look. If you take a sharp blade to the caulking and cut it away from the board, you’ll have a better chance of not injuring your walls. Patience is a BIG factor. If you don’t have it find someone who does.
