Is there an easy way to paint walls without getting paint on a white spacked ceiling?

I hate cutting into a ceiling and it is no way easy so I installed ceiling molding to every room so I can mask when I paint. The only way to paint your walls without cutting in would be to either use an edger or put up a wall boarder after you paint leaving a few inches unpainted toward your celing and covering it with the boarder.
