Is there an armor proficiency feat that covers just archaic armor?
Or is archaic armor considered light, medium, or heavy based on Table 4-9: Armor? The latter version is correct. The term “archaic” is just descriptive; it doesn’t have any real meaning in terms of game mechanics. The only factor that matters when determining the proficiency feat that covers a given type of armor is whether it is light, medium, or heavy.
