Yes. LPCH’s Pediatric Kidney Transplant Program has developed an anti-rejection regimen that avoids steroids and their side effects altogether. Your child will be evaluated to see if she or he can use the steroid-free protocol. Many of the children we see can use the steroid-free protocol and are spared the side effects of steroids.
