Is there an age requirement for buying Maxim Magazine?
While Maxim is a “men’s magazine”, it is not considered a true porn magazine. It is often shelved with those magazines and sometimes sleeved like one so some stores may require you to be over 18 to purchase it. It all depends on the store and their policies. Even though it might not be “illegal” for you to purchase one, the store is not required to sell anything to you. Stores do this with a variety of products that are not illegal for a minor to buy, such as condoms (although that’s more of a moral judgment they’re making!), spray paint or large quantities of eggs (due to vandalism concerns), whipped cream and model airplane glue (to prevent “huffing”) etc.
