Is there an age limit for swaddling babies?

I was always told when baby starts to fight it then I got a call from my Health Visitor telling me babies should not be swaddled after 3-months – she offered to send me a research study (just the one lol) linking swaddling with developmental delay (mobility) I declined as my son is not delayed at all in this area and still enjoys being swaddled – I also like to see more research than one little study before I believe something like that! – I think she was a bit bemused that I declined but to be fair, I know my son better than she does!

No theres isnt, there comes a time when swaddling doesnt work and the babies themselves let you know that because they wont settle, a baby will only settle swaddled if they are comfortable to do so. My daughter was swaddled up to 8months when she wouldnt settle that way anymore, my son only 6 months before he fought it.
