Niche is good. You can become a master of something very specific, an expert. But you also have to be able to be flexible, adaptable and adjustable to other genres, jobs, etcetera. It’s very crucial to be well rounded and to be able to adapt to new things. Once you stop learning, you become stale. You can learn and grow by continuing to shift in the genre and if you so chose, to grow out of it eventually. You can still love metal and work other genres. It’s just most rewarding and fulfilling when you love what you do and get to get your hands dirty in what you love!
