Yes. The University spends approximately $75,000 annually on credit card calls by Baylor employees while they are traveling on Baylor business. Many of these calls are to the campus. In order to reduce this expenditure, Telephone Services has installed a toll-free incoming call service that any Baylor employee can use for official Baylor business while they are traveling. Typically our Baylor calling card calls cost between 25 and 50 cents per minute. By using the toll-free number, these charges will be less than 10 cents per minute. Also, in order to reduce the operational costs for this service, Telephone Services will bear the complete cost of these calls so they will not be charged back to the individual departments.
