Is there already flying car technology available that is not used due to safety concerns?

1. For a flying car to be useable it would need to be a vertical take off and landing vehicle. 2. There is no mechanical system that is 100% foolproof. 3. Drop like a rock This is a funny example but bottom line the truth. I work for GM and even the most expensive car we make will die and coast to the side of the road once in a while. NASA built the most expensive vehicle known to man and has lost two of them to failure. I don’t think the flying car will ever replace ground transportation for this and many other reasons.
