Yes. Some families will need additional financial aid, and there may be new families who have not previously needed support but now do. Any family needing financial assistance should apply for financial aid through the regular application process. As we always have in the past, MIT will work with our students and their families to provide financial assistance that reflects a reasonable assessment of each family’s current need, including cases in which the family’s economic situation has changed significantly since the student was originally admitted to MIT. Families already receiving aid are welcome to discuss any changes in their financial situation with their designated financial aid officer. Families who have not applied for aid in the past, but whose economic situation has worsened in some significant way, can contact the Student Financial Service Office for advice and assistance on how to apply.
