Yes, don’t remove the horse-hair or the original fabric you can do this two different ways. The first thing is fun, go find a fabric you really love, and make sure it is upholstery fabric as fabric for sewing clothing will not last for long and show wear. I have successfully used coverlets and this can look amazing. Then you can either sew the fabric over the existing fabric OR you can create a tailored slip cover. I personally don’t care for the look of slipcovers, and l love the look of a lush velvet cover that looks original. The slip cover you can make by using newspaper and cut the sheets and tape them together to get the size and the shape and curves of the chair…if you goof up no harm! Once you get the peices figured out, then put them on the fabric and add 3″ inches all around and cut accordingly. Sew it all together with large stitches and then put it over the chair with the seams out. then tailor it to fit the chair as loose or as tailored as you want, however, make sure yo
