The water level in the cistern is set by the position of the float arm – this closes off the valve which allows water in. The recommended water level is normally shown on the inside of the cistern – if you are filling lowered than this you need to adjust the screw thread which contacts the vale so it doesn’t shut off too early. Check also that the overflow pipe has been correctly positioned – if it is connected at base of the cistern there will be an open pipe which should finish just above your regular water level. If there is problem with this the cistern is likely be constantly filling.
