Is there a way to get from the Snowdonia coastal region to Bala via bus or rail?
Tue, Wed and Fri only, number 94 bus, Barmouth to Bala and back. Barmouth is on the Cambrian Coast rail line. Barmouth dep 13:50 Bala arr 14:50 Amuse yourself in Bala for one or more nights, then (making sure that the new day is also Tue, Wed or Fri), Bala dep 09:10 Barmouth arr 11:25 The return bus takes a loop around Dolgellau (thus visiting Dolgellau twice) – you might see if it’s OK to get off and go for a cup of tea while it’s doing that. Alternativley, get off the return bus in Dolgellau (arr 09:45) for a reasonable choice of destinations, e.g. Machynlleth, Tywyn, Aberystwyth (all on the rail line), or further on to South Wales. Have a good time in Wales – it’s fantastic.
