Is there a way to get famous and make money through music without promotion?
i used to promote, book, manage, etc etcetc, and was also a musician. there is NO way to make money without promoting. Technically myspace and youtube ARE promotion. If you have a good enough “product” people will buy it. if you feel that your music is good enough, and your recordings are of good enough quality, go to musicsubmit.com and purchase some submissions… i used to have a company that was basically a competitor to them, I got bored with it and shut it down. These guys do a good job. i’ve known hundreds of people in the industry, my current business partner is signed to one of the best indie labels out there, and he still doesn’t make jack for money. I don’t mean to shoot your dreams down but, unless you have something VERY good and original, you’re not going to get rich at it. I could tell you ways to make a little bit, but, it’s nothing you can’t research on your own… which of course is what i’d prefer.
