The TIM_TM message reports the time of a rising edge received at the pulse input. The reported time is the best estimate of GPS time from the MIDG II. When the MIDG II first starts, it does not know GPS time and cannot know GPS time until a 3D fix is first achieved. At this time, the MIDG II synchronizes it’s clock to GPS time, begins to calibrate it’s clock accordingly, and sets the ‘Time is GPS Time’ flag for the output messages. If GPS is lost, the MIDG II continues to propagate its best estimate of GPS time based on it’s own calibrated internal clock and the ‘Time is GPS Time’ flag is never cleared.
