Is there a way to delay connection to the back end when viewing the UWL iView?

This feature is supported by NW 7.0, SPS09 and later. A new property has been added to the UWL IView. From the Portal Content page edit the UWL IView and find the Attribute labeled “Wait duration before calling providers on loading of UWL”. Set the value to the number of seconds to wait before loading data from the backend. The UWL will display only data that was previously retrieved and display a message indicating it is waiting to connect. If the user selects a different portal page before the delay time is up and the returns to the UWL page later (more then 20 seconds) then the delay time is reset to start over again. Once the UWL has connected to the backend the delay time will be ignored until the next login.
