I do that all the time! Just use a mild soap & water with a rag & wipe them down. If they are really dirty you can use a hand held spot/steam cleaner which scrubs & pulls the dirt & water out. I got one at a local variety store for less than $40, worth the investment for any types of spots on carpet or furniture and great for the car!

I’ve always used Armor-All. Then you can just pull it out more to clean.
