Is there a way to allow only teachers to use mailtool but not students?
You could prevent the students from seeing the Mailtool at all by hiding it using the Page Order tool or using the functions.require property on the tool. Whatever permission is set there, the user has to have in order to see the page in the left hand menu column. I believe by default it is set to mailtool.send, so if you take that permission away from students in the site, then they shouldn’t even see the tool. You set that property using the Admin Sites tool – edit the site, go to the Mailtool page and edit the tool. There is a list of properties that show up – put mailtool.send in for the functions.require property if it isn’t already there. Then remove that permission from the Student role in the site.
