Is there a way I can rotate (landscape > portrait) a digital photo without changing its (Windows XP) timestamp?
JPEG files usually have extra information about the picture (the format is called EXIF, I think). This extra information includes the make of camera, date of photo (as recorded by the camera) and lots of other information. Most programs that rotate photos preserve this information, so the date won’t change. However, the file date (the one you see in XP) will change when you modify the file by rotating the photo. It is possible to set the file date of any file to any date, but you need specialized software to do that.
