Yes. The State Board for Educator Certification has created the Hurricane Katrina Emergency Certificate. This an emergency certification for the 2005-2006 school year authorizing out-of-state educators to be hired by Texas School Districts needing additional staff to meet the increased educational demands resulting from Hurricane Katrina.
