I’m at work so I don’t have my Bible with me, but there are verses forbidding swine to be eaten. Savatage has them right there. However many point to Peter’s vision as the reason why Christians are allowed to eat pork. However there are some problems with that belief. First understand that eating pork isn’t like the other sins mentioned in the Bible. It’s not like you’re going to hell if you eat it. God is “The Parent” and like all parents, he wants you to eat healthy. He believes that eating horses, cockroaches, hawks, the fat of an animal and drinking blood are all unhealthy practices. He included pork with these laws. It’s just like your mommy making you eat your vegetables. Second, Peter was very anal about being clean. He wouldn’t even eat next to you if it wasn’t obvious that you didn’t wash your hands all the way up to your elbow.
