Who created the art structures inside Woodfield? SEARS COURT Dominating the Sears Court, Robert Engman’s sculpture of graceful, curved stainless steel soars to a height of 24 feet. Two polished arcs, weighing about 3,500 pounds, are held in tension by stainless steel aircraft cable. The artist was co-chairman of the department of Fine Arts in the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Fine Arts. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the Rhode Island school of Design, and his Master of Arts degree from Yale University. Engman also has been a visiting critic and lecturer at the schools of architecture of Princeton, University of Texas, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Engman’s works have been exhibited widely and can be seen in the major public collectons, including the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum, and the Yale University Art Gallery.
