Raising awareness across your authority will help to build consistency of approach to energy use and help develop a corporate culture around low carbon behaviours. You can work with your human resources team to develop a formal training package, or organise an informal session of your own. An ongoing training programme, and one that is integrated into the induction process, will carry more weight with trainees and ensure that the council maintains its focus when individual personnel move on. You should try to make sure that the training is regularly reviewed, that refresher courses are available and that there is follow up, for example via email bulletins.
