Is there a stress component to inflammatory disease?
There is a great deal of anecdotal evidence to suggest that stress and other psychological factors play a role in inflammatory disease and in the timing and severity of inflammatory disease flares. However, theres no convincing scientific evidence to confirm this. This is why the Chilton Program is restricted to diet, and does not extend to stress-management techniques like meditation, yoga, or enjoying a beer by the pool. If you find that these strategies, or any others help you to manage your disease, then I wholeheartedly encourage you to pursue them. They will certainly not hurt you, and may help if not your inflammatory disease, then in other areas of your life.
