Is there a special Oyster card for tourists?
Yes, it is called an Oyster Visitor card, but you are better off with the normal Oyster card, because then you have the option of buying weekly (monthly or yearly) tickets. The Oyster card for tourists can only do pay as you go / prepay. Buying a card at a Tube station takes only a few seconds, so a regular card is definitely the best option. You buy the Oyster Visitor card outright for £2, so there is no deposit to be paid or refunded.
