Indirect costs cover the costs of the Universitys administrative services – Personnel, Finance, Facilities, Library etc. Do Indirect Cost rates apply to technicians? No. The FTE used as the denominator for indirect costs is based on research staff on the project (PIs; RAs; PGRs) and in this respect, technicians are not regarded as research staff. What about grant transfers? It will be possible to transfer fEC grants – in the same way as pre-fEC. Grants will not be re-costed.
