Is there a requirement to have someone from outside the organisation conduct an internal audit against the AQTF Standards for RTOs?

There is no requirement (at the national or state level) to have an external person conduct an internal AQTF audit/self assessment of the organisation. However, some RTOs choose to employ a consultant to help them prepare for an audit or check the business systems. The consultant may conduct an internal audit of the RTO’s compliance with the AQTF as part of this service. Although consultants are often present at an audit, they are requested to take an “observer” role to allow the RTO staff to demonstrate their understanding and ownership of the processes and procedures discussed at audit.
