Is There a Reengineering Team Charter and Project Plan?
The executive steering committee and/or the project sponsor generally work with the team to develop a team charter and project plan. A team charter and project plan provide objectives and direction to the project team. The charter outlines the scope and goals of the project, the team’s authority and interactions with the executive committee and sponsor, and any special considerations that may put constraints on the project’s potential solutions. The project plan lays out the activities, deliverables, and time frames for the effort and serves as the baseline for managing activities and measuring progress. It is important that the plan allow the team some flexibility to set direction of their work. Along the way, the team may encounter problems or new opportunities that require some adjustments or revisions to specific tasks. Key Assessment Questions • What is the reengineering team’s charter?
