For JWs, the 7-step indoctrination method was developed under the direction of the 2nd president of the Watchtower Society, Judge Rutherford. They are still in use today pretty much in the same way. 1. Get the books into the hands of a person by any method. Usually, these include enticement with Paradise on the new earth or fear re: horrible world conditions. 2. Make a back call to encourage the purchaser (at that time, the books were sold) to study the book he acquired. 3. Get the person to agree to a “Home Bible Study,” which is a deceitful misnomer, because the textbook is a published book by the Watchtower Society. The purpose is to dislodge loosely held religious beliefs (usually through questions designed to cause the person to mistrust their religion and beliefs) and to implant new ideas. 4.
