Is there a reason that human beings need stereotypes?
Stereotypes make it easier to refer to certain types of people and also to judge them. Nothing wrong in using stereotypes IF you don’t forget what they are, inaccurate generalizations with a name. Stereotypes make it possible to make statements without having to define everything over and over again. This is really the function of words. Stereotypes go bad when we use them to put down groups of people and look at them negatively and even treat them unfairly.
