Is there a real freedom of speech and expression in UK?

You can say whatever you want, you just have to accept the consequences of what you say. With rights come responsibilities. If you say something untrue about someone, say something racist etc. you have every right to say it, but you have to accept that this is illegal, and you may face legal proceedings. You still have the freedom to say it, you just need to know that it’s not acceptable and you could get in trouble. Most people know about the laws. We are given free speech in the Human Rights Act of 1998, but as I said, with your rights come responsibilities, and people need to accept the consequence of their actions if they are saying something illegal, or slanderous.
