I believe there is. What is that difference? More than anything it is the emphasis that the military places on the importance that moral character has in the conduct of leadership. While you can find business leadership thinkers that address the character question, traditional business leadership looks at managerial skills as the primary focus of leadership. In many respects, I believe that this is due to the very different conceptions of what their organizational purpose is. Sending soldiers into battle is a bit different than sending workers into a manufacturing facility to operate a production process. At least on the surface they are quite a bit different.
