However, to understand the program code on these discs, you will need an emulator. For PS1 games you already mention the best emulator: ePSXe. Get that and the necessary BIOS files and plugins, and you’re set. Before you waste points asking for BIOS files: the BIOS is copyright protected by Sony. The only legal way to get a BIOS is by downloading it from a real PS1 by using a homebrew application on a modified PS1. I cannot tell you where you can illegally download BIOS files. If you want PS2 games, get PCSX2. The steps are relatively easy: Copy the ePSXe emulator to a folder of your choice. Copy the BIOS files in the appropriate BIOS folder.
