Is there a process when applicants are not pleased with the quality of their community participation supports?
Whether participants choose direct funding or transfer payment agency services, complaints about the quality of supports are taken up with the service provider. Can Passport applicants contest their funding allocation? Yes. Under Passport, access mechanisms or designated agencies are required to develop a mechanism to review funding decisions with the individual and/or their family or someone else on their behalf in a fair and equitable manner upon request. Can I apply for Passport if I am already receiving a Ministry-funded day program? Yes, you can apply for Passport if you are already receiving community participation supports. If you choose to apply, you will need to indicate on the application form that you understand that you will be required to give up your current community participation supports in order to receive support though the Passport initiative. These spots will then be used for other people needing service. Individuals who have very little or no community participati
