The Thornton PFA Vortex Flowmeter can be mounted in any orientation, horizontal, vertical or diagonal, so long as the tubing always fills with liquid. When mounting in a vertical position, an upward flow is recommended. The PFA Vortex flowmeter should also be installed with at least 10 pipe diameters upstream and 2 pipe diameters downstream.
