Is there a potential shock hazard from EMF?

0

Potential shocks can be produced by electric fields. A charge can build up on any ungrounded object near a power line, such as a fence, building, or vehicle. It is possible to receive a shock by touching the ungrounded object – usually a nuisance level shock. Permanent equipment and fences in close proximity to the proposed transmission line will be properly grounded during project construction to mitigate the potential for nuisance shocks and safety hazards. If a landowner experiences nuisance shocks and suspects it may be related to an existing transmission line, the Heartland Project Team will come out and investigate and mitigate the effects if they are related to the transmission line, by installation of appropriate grounding.
