Is there a place for Nicki in Hip-Hop?
It’s no secret Hip-Hop fans, especially females, are in dire need of a female rapper that can say exactly what any female would say if she had the mic and the lyrical skills. Nicki slipped up when she decided to insinuate that she wanted to be the second-coming of Lil Kim as made clear when she posed in the same position as Kim did in her promo shot. Copying or following another artist’s blueprint to success is always a formula for failure. Hip-Hop as is-is known to portray women in the most sexual form possible in their videos, in their lyrics, and even on album covers. At first glance you can tell that Nicki is a stunning beauty and at first listen, you can tell that she is a talented songstress/rapper that has a voice fit for a mic; but, it is hard to get to that point when there is something so clear being put before it, in this case her overbearing female sexual essence.
